Customer Usage Data
Customer usage data is being made available to customers,
energy suppliers, energy marketers, and other organizations.
- Customers requesting their own usage data
may call the Customer Service Center toll-free at 1-877-683-9757 or
complete and submit an Energy Usage Release Form.
- Suppliers, marketers, and other organizations must
submit a completed Energy Usage Release Form with the customer's signature before any
information will be released.

Prior to requesting this information, you should know what
type of data you need and be aware that there may be charges associated with your request.
NorthWestern Energy will release the following types of data:
- Usage Data: Twenty-four months of
customer usage history. There may be a charge associated with this request.
- Interval Data Recorder (IDR) Data:
Some large customers have special recording meters that record their usage in 15-minute
intervals. IDR data may be requested, but it will be supplied for those customers with
installed interval recorders. IDR data is typically reported for each 60-minute
period in the month. Reporting intervals of 15 or 30 minutes may optionally be requested.
There is a charge for this data as more fully described below. You may request IDR data in
one of three formats: (1) Load Data Report, (2)
Comma Separated File, and (3) EXCEL Spreadsheet.
